Abstract : Spider eggcase silk as a task-specific fiber draws increasing attention due to its unique behaviors. A silk protein from the tubuliform spidroin 1 is genetically engineered and assembled with various morphologies in different lubricant systems. The underling mechanism for the assembly ofsilk proteins was studied with regard to the surface tension, viscosity and temperature.The phase separation of silk proteins is significantly affected by the interfacial diffusion behaviors and the evaporation of HFIP.
