Abstract : Abstract – Background: New fertilizers are introduced every now and then to improve plants’ performance and productivity. The new fertilizer must have an advantage over those traditionally used. That’s why they need to undergo investigations and revision for their safety usage. Methodology: this work investigated three recommended fertilizers:ZnO which is prepared in nano-form via Gamma from Cobalt 60 source at irradiation dose 5 KGy in concentrations (0.5, 1 and 3%), and the other two aqueous extracts of moringa leaves and Saccharomyces cerevisiae in concentrations (1, 3 and 5%) on Vicia faba seedlings. These investigations concern their cytotoxicity and mutagenicity. These fertilizers were also investigated on the level of their effect on the protein profile in addition to their effect on the cytoplasmic organelles. Results: the two lower concentrations of ZnO NPs and yeast extract, and all the used concentration of moringa extract found to enhance the mitotic index over the non-treated seedlings (control), they induced some chromosomal abnormalities mainly of chromo-toxic and turbo-genic types. Among the three tested materials; ZnO NPs was the micro-nucleus inducer and deletion of some protein bands from total soluble protein to declare its mutagenicity. On the level of cytoplasmic organelles, the ZnO NPs. and yeast extract induced a new type of deformed mitochondria in ring or spherical shaped as a result of direct treatment. Conclusion: The two bioactive products in a form of aqueous extracts can be used in the tested concentrations as fertilizers safely. Also, the nano-zinc particles can be counted as a preferable and safe fertilizer on the lower concentration level. Keywords - Biofertilizers, Cyto-genecity, Mutagenicity, Nano zinc fertilizer.
