Abstract : This work highlights the change in the behavior of high density polyethylene HDPE in the presence of notches at constant depth and constant loading speed. The behavior of HDPE in the presence of defects is shown by the determination of the breaking stress at different geometry condition of l ' notch, the results obtained demonstrated that the breaking strength varies with the type of ' notch, the ductile behavior of the material influenced by its response to the conditions used.
