Abstract : Online reading is non-linear type of text needs to precede different reading strategies to perform independently. This study used aims to do an in-depth investigation on online interactional reading strategies used by internal locus of control students which effects on their independent learning. The students were selected at the early stage of this study through locus of control scale. The study identified 11 internal locus of control students and they perform reading through using online forum and other online reading activities to understand the reading text. Data for this study were collected through observations, interviews and online forum. Results showed that students with an internal locus of control are more likely to do well in interactional reading strategies and it has an impact on independent reading and lifelong learning.
