Abstract : The purpose of our study was to use various types of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) as tomato rootstocks. This study aims to determine the effect of various types of eggplant rootstocks on the growth, yield and storability capacity of some tomatoes. The varieties of tomatoes used are Cervo, Karina and Timoty which are then grafted using eggplant rootstock, among others: Takokak, Gelatik and EG 203 lines. The combination of treatments obtained were Cervo-Gelatik, Cervo-Takokak, Cervo-EG 203, Karina-Gelatik, Karina-Takokak, Karina-EG 203, Timoty-Gelatik, Timoty-Takokak, and Timoty -EG 203. These treatments was compared with the control treatment was tomatoes without grafting (Cervo, Karina and Timoty). From the results of the study it was found that the growth of height of plants for 4 weeks after planting showed that grafting plants were still wound healing so that growth was slower than control plants. At the 6th and 8th weeks growth of height and length of the plants were not significantly different compared to the controls treatments. When the plants were 8 weeks after planting there was still an increase in the diameter of the rootstocks and there were no significant differences between treatments. The treatment of tomato varieties of Cervo and Timoty as scions grafted onto eggplant varieties of EG 203, Gelatik, and S.torvum as rootstocks had an average yield increased compared to controls and weight loss which are connected to the root's rootstock and all the factors which were joined by S.torvumand EG 203. Cervo varieties also have a longer shelf life compare than Timoty and Karina are both control treatments and as a rootstocks to the three eggplant varieties. Cervo varieties are with a Gelatik rootstock to produce more stronger storage than S.torvumand EG 203.
