Abstract : Mining is considered to be the source of mineral commodities and one of the major contributors to the development of economies. However, as mining activities continue to grow, its implementation of safety and health programs impacts become a major concern to the public, especially on the surrounding communities. In this regard, this study was conducted to determine the extent of implementation of the Safety and Health programs of Platinum Group Metals Corporation or PGMC through getting the perception of the residents in the host mining community. The participants were assessed through four demographic profiles- age, sex, occupation, and length of residency in years. Data were analyzed through frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, and paired sample t-test. Based on the findings, both the Safety and Health components obtained “Disagree” remarks from the participants, signifying that the programs wereless implemented to the community. On the other hand, the four demographic profile variables when paired to safety and health components showed no significant difference among the participants of the community. Overall, the study concludes that the extent of implementation of the Safety and Health programs of PGMC were less implemented, it means that it didn’t have a large effect or influence on the host mining community, Brgy. Cagdianao. As recommendation, the company must focus on strengthening its implementation and magnifying the needs of the community and at the same time expanding the scope in terms of the safety and health components. Further study regarding this matter is also recommended to evaluate the underlying factors affecting the company’s Safety and Health program implementation and identify influences affecting the perceived impacts of the respondents.
