Abstract : In this study, Sonocatalytic degradation of diazinon was investigated using nano-ZnO. The ZnO nanoparticles modified were systematically characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Dispersive liquid-liquid micro-extraction (DLLME) technique was used to extract and preconcentration of residual diazinon and by-products from the liquid samples. The analysis was applied by gas chromatography with electron capture detector. Influences of three operational parameters including initial diazinon concentration, initial pH and nano-ZnO dosage were measured and optimized. Initial concentration of diazinon has positive influences on diazinon removal when the dose of nano sono-catalyst and pH has negative influences. Optimization analysis was done based on Taguchi design of experiments that shows the maximum diazinon removal equal to 47.8 mg in pH of 2, dose of nano-particle of 0.2 g/L, and initial concentration of 463.5 mg/L. Index Terms- Diazinon Removal; Nano ZnO Sono-catalyst, Disperse liquid-liquid micro extraction.
