Paper Title
Application of Discrete Element Simulation for Enhancement of Particle Mixing in V-Blenders
Abstract
V-blenders are one of the most common industrial tumbling blenders and the understanding of the particle mixing
in V-blenders is limited. In this study discrete element method (DEM) is employed to simulate the mixing of both spherical and
non-spherical particles in V-blenders. The simulation results are compared to experimental data in literature with a good
qualitative agreement. A new configuration is proposed to address poor axial mixing in V-blenders. The simulation results
show that the proposed configuration increases the axial mixing efficiency.
