Paper Title
Study of Gaseous Chlorine Dioxide to Eliminate Aflatoxin B1 on Animal Feed

Abstract
Animal feed as the first step of the food chain has the risk of carrying the contamination from contaminated feeds to the animal then finally to the food products. Contaminated feed by fungi can be a problem for food safety. Aflatoxin B1 is one of the mycotoxins produced by Aspergillusflavus, proved by The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a group 1 human carcinogenic. Chlorine dioxide gas as a promising agent to reduce aflatoxins contamination, this chemical has the significant effect on sterilization, oxidation, and trihalomethanes (THMs) inhibition. This study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of gaseous chlorine dioxide for the elimination of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1). The treatments on animal feed used 200 mg/L concentration of gaseous chlorine dioxide at several exposure times (0, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h). The initial AFB1 level in artificially contaminated feed samples determined as 39.53μg/kg then decreased by 59.81% after exposure 24 h. There was a significant effect of time exposure to chlorine dioxide gas at the P<0.05 for the five conditions [F(4, 10) = 47.69, P=0.00]. Chlorine dioxide gas suggested as a solution to reduce aflatoxin B1 on animal feed. Index Terms - Aflatoxin B1, Animal Feed, Chlorine Dioxide Gas, Food Safet
