Paper Title :
Growth Performance of Fly Ash Stressed Tomato Plants in Presence of Meloidogyne Javanica

Author :Jai Prakash, Kamal Singh

Article Citation :Jai Prakash ,Kamal Singh , (1970 ) " Growth Performance of Fly Ash Stressed Tomato Plants in Presence of Meloidogyne Javanica " , International Journal of Advances in Science, Engineering and Technology(IJASEAT) , pp. 94-99,

Abstract : Plant growth (length and fresh weight of shoot and root) increased gradually upto 60% fly ash amendmentsas compared to controls, however optimum was found at 50%. Although 60% fly ash was proved detrimental to growth. Rootknot nematode (Meloidogynejavanica) also did reductions to tomatoes growth but were nematode density (inoculum level) dependent. Maximum reductionswere observed at 3000 nematode inoculum level. Reduction to plant growth were marginally masked at 4000 and 5000 compared to 3000 inoculum level but still greater than nematode uninoculated treatments. Fly ash has been proved beneficial to number of galls upto 50%. However, it become detrimental to root galling beyond 50% levels. But egg masses number were reduced gradually beyond with progressive fly ash additions. The galls and egg masses production were reduced to nil at 80, 90 and 100% fly ash. GI (Gall index) and EMI (Egg mass index) were not much affected by fly ash amendments and/or nematode inoculations. Both the nematode parameters, as referred above, were highest at 3000 inoculum level. Keywords— Amendments, Detrimental, Fly ash, Meloidogyne Javanica, Reductions.
