Abstract : In order to visualize the location and severity of myocardial ischemia, a new method is proposed for detecting myocardial ischemia based on a compass displaying a ST injury vector. Firstly, we used an ECG device to collect the standard 12-lead ECG. Then, the deviation value of each lead is calculated to get a lead vector. Lastly, the lead and ST injury vectors are reversely projected onto the compass by solving contradictory equations with the least-square method. The magnitude of the ST injury vector reflects the severity of myocardial ischemia, and the direction determines the location. Thirty-two patients with myocardial ischemia were detected by using the ST injury vector method. The diagnoses were compared with those by ECG examination and angiography. The ST injury vector method is confirmed to be feasible and effective in the above comparisons. Experimental results show that the accuracy of the new method is very high, which has very good application prospects in the field of myocardial ischemia detection. Keywords- myocardial ischemia; ST deviation; ST compass; ST injury vector
