Article Citation :Mohammed Allawi , (2018 ) " Studying Inhibitory Effect of Propolis Extract Against Staphylococcus Aureus and Candida Albicans Isolated from Mouth with Diagnosis of Some Active Compounds " , International Journal of Advances in Science, Engineering and Technology(IJASEAT) , pp. 25-27, Volume-6, Issue-3, Spl. Iss-1

Abstract : Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans were isolated taking 34 isolates from the mouth people aged (2.5 – 63) years. A crude sample of bees propolis was collected from several apiaries in Mosul city , evaluating anti fungal and anti bacterial of propolis were different concentration (1, 2 ,4 ,6 , 12, 16, 20) mg – ml . Ethanol extract of propolis (EEP) produced significantly inhibition of Zones against S.aureus . Moderate growth (MG) was at concentration (1,2,4,6 )mg/ml ,Sensitive growth (SG) was at concentration (12 , 16 , 20 )mg/ml, (EEP) also had an effect on C.albicans growth, but the effect was showed against c.albicans growth after concentration (6) mg /ml, a data set of Rf value of the separation of flavonoids and phenolic acid in (EEP),Three phenolic compounds were extracted and filtered using thin layer chromatography (TLC) technique, these include Quercetin, Apigenin and Kaempferol. Keyword - propolis, Staphylococcus aureus,, Candida albicans , phenolic compounds .
