Tannery Waste Water Treatment using Eichhornia Crassipes

Abstract
Tannery waste water are having more amounts of chemical components due to the various process to has to be carried out in the tanning process. So this experiment was conducted to find out the physio chemical parameters of tannery waste water and the use of the biological treatment (Phytoremediation) by Eichhornia crassipes. Initially the pH, Biological Oxygen Demand(BOD),Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD),Total Suspended Solids(TSS),Total Dissolved Solids(TDS), Turbidity of the raw water are found,after the biological treatment with aquatic plant of Eichhornia crassipes is found to be effective one to treat the tannery waste water. Keywords - Tannery effluent, Eichhornia crassipes.
