Author :Arunarashmi V, Vanaja Shivakumar, Soumyaprasad

Article Citation :Arunarashmi V ,Vanaja Shivakumar ,Soumyaprasad , (2018 ) " A Survey on Environmental Effects of EM Radiation Exposure and Reduction Techniques " , International Journal of Advances in Science, Engineering and Technology(IJASEAT) , pp. 36-41, Volume-6,Issue-1,Special Issue - 1

Abstract : This paper provides a survey on Specific Absorption Rate(SAR), electromagnetic(EM) radiation exposure and its reduction in mobile communication systems. EM radiation exposure is closely linked with specific absorption rate (SAR) and transmit power usage. Possible techniques for reducing EM radiation exposure in mobile communication systems are proposed by exploring known concepts related to SAR and transmit power reduction in mobile systems. Rapid growth in the field of wireless communication in turn electromagnetic (EM) radiation has raised concerns about environmental impacts and health effects on humans which prompts the need to reduce specific absorption rate in mobile devices. This paper proposes possible techniques for reducing EM radiation exposure in mobile communication systems by exploring known concepts related to SAR and transmit power reduction in mobile systems. Keywords - EM radiation exposure, mobile communication systems, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), power density, beamforming
