Paper Title
Engineered Spheres from Unique Spider Egg Case Silk Protein

Abstract
Spider eggcase silk draws increasing attention due to its unique properties. Gene recombinant technology makes engineered silk proteins (eTuSp1) promising and versatile materials with fascinating functionalities for specific application. The eTuSp1 spheres were formed in a lubricant-based system with rapid assembly of 10 s and the underling mechanism for the sphere formation was studied. The effect of protein concentration on the silk spheres has been analyzed with respect to sphere size. SEM, TEM, FTIR are used to determine the structure of silk spheres. Loaded with doxorubicin (Dox), the potential of silk spheres is revealed for an enzyme-triggered drug delivery system. Index Terms- drug delivery system, gene recombinant, spider eggcase silk, spheres.
