Graphene oxide-silver Nanocomposites: Synthesis, Characterization and Applications

Abstract
Abstract - Here, we report the synthesis and characterization of graphene oxide(GO) and Graphene oxide-silver (GO-Ag) nanocomposites with low and high concentrations of silver nitrate. As a promising technique, Graphene Oxide was first fabricated usinga modified Hummer’s method. Then, Silver Nitrate was typically loaded onto the GO surface, and subsequently, NaBH4 was used as a stabilizing and reducing agent to produce GO-Ag nanocomposite. The synthesized materials were investigated using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), elemental dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and Fourier-transform infrared microscopy (FTIR). Our FESEM data verify the formation of spherical nanosized Ag NPs on the GO surface layers. Keywords - Graphene Oxide (GO), Nanocomposite, Silver Nanoparticles.
