Paper Title
Reconfigurable Platform of Assistive Technology with Ventricular Assist Devices

Abstract
Abstract: Assistive technology can be understood as a tool for improving quality of life, treatment and therapy for people with reduced mobility in different situations, inside or outside the hospital. Ventricular assistance, on the other hand, is an invasive circulatory support technique for patients with heart failure who are often in situations of reduced mobility. An assistive technology project funded by the Brazilian government initiated the overlapping of two research lines in our laboratories: assistive technology and circulatory assistance. This study presents the conception, design and results in the installation of this joint research. The mechanical design, automation and applied control aspects were evaluated and results were considered satisfactory for application in patients with Ventricular Assist Devices. Designed and built Reconfigurable Assistive Technology Platform has resulted in secure integration of supervisory control data and control layers into Internet of Things and Big Data applications.
