Paper Title
On Modeling of Heat Transfer in Agitated Vessels

Abstract
Agitated vessels are devices predominantly used for mixing and reaction. The significance of their applications can be seen by the attracted level of research investment. Activities in the field include modeling and experimentation, ultimately leading to design improvements. This research is an attempt to elucidate thermal characteristics of mixing vessels, where heating and cooling are achieved through welded external jackets and/or internal coils. The elaboration is through the development of descriptive mathematical models which are then employed to estimate heat transfer coefficients. Methods adopted are based on techniques such as exponential response and least square. Data used are those available in literature and results provided interesting features. This contribution discusses rival models used and in particular their application in relation to design parameters. Keywords - Heat Transfer Coefficient, Modeling, Parameter Estimation, Simulation, Summation of Squares Error.
