Rapid Precipitation of Rod-Like Micropartilces of Potassium Magnesium Phosphate Hexahydrate Kmgpo4•6h2o
Potassium magnesium phosphate hexahydrate KMgPO4•6H2O was rapidly synthesized by precipitation method
of a solution of MgCl2•6H2O and K2HPO4 at pH 10 without controlling temperature for 1 hr. The XRD and FTIR results of
the prepared sample indicate the orthorhombic phase with space group Pmn21 without impurities. The crystallite size for the
prepared sample obtained from X-ray line broadening was found to be 58-8 nm. SEM image show rod-like microparticles of
the prepared sample, which may be important property for applications in future.
