Paper Title
Determination of Heavy Metal Pollution in the Surface Soil of Industrial Zones

Abstract
The concentration of heavy metals in the shallow topsoil (0–20 cm and 20–40 cm) from industrial areas in Slovakia and Tajikistan was qualitatively and quantitatively analysed using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy analysis. Together 40 soil samples were taken from 20 sampling sites during summer 2015 and spring 2016. The main purpose of the research was to identify the topsoil chemical properties near the aluminium plants and to assess the effects of the aluminium plants by analysing contaminated soil in this particular area. Results showed that concentrations of heavy metals are significant in both investigated areas. Considering both studied areas in Žiar nad Hronom (Slovakia) and Tursunzoda (Tajikistan), the highest concentrations of Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn, Ni, Co, Cr, Fe and Al were recorded in Tursunzoda (Tajikistan) Index Terms - Aluminium Production, Heavy Metal, Soil Contamination
