Paper Title
In-Vitro Assessment of Antibacterial Activity of Soil Bacteria from Northern India
Abstract
The present study was carried out by isolation of soil bacteria and their antibacterial activity against specific
organisms in the form of multidrug resistant (MDR) pathogens. In this article total of 14 soil samples were collected from
different places of Lucknow (Northern India) based on geographical location thirteen bacterial strains were isolated after
pure culturing (C1- C13) and further tested against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
by disc diffusion method. Four samples out of 13 showed a goodantibacterial activity [ C1, C11,C12 and C13], biochemical
tests were performed by Bergey’s manual .The identification of four bacterial isolates was performed by 16S rRNA analysis
from Imtech, Chandigarh and it was found that C-13 bacterial isolate was Bacillus cereus (ATCC no. 14579) showing 99.93
percentage pair wise similarities.
